Peanut punch is a filling, milkshake-like drink of peanut butter blended with milk, condensed milk and spice, sold cold in bottles and made at home in a blender in minutes.

Use smooth peanut butter for a silky punch. The condensed milk sweetens it, so taste before adding any sugar.

It contains peanuts and milk, so check before serving it to guests.

Method

  1. Put all the ingredients in a blender.
  2. Blend on high for about 1 minute, until completely smooth and frothy.
  3. Taste and add more condensed milk if you like it sweeter.
  4. Serve straight away, with a little extra nutmeg grated on top.

Serve it with

  • Ice cold, as a drink or a quick breakfast

Substitutions

  • Evaporated milk: use 2 cups (480 ml) evaporated milk and 2 cups (480 ml) cold water instead of the milk, for a richer punch.
  • Plant milk: soy or oat milk works, with condensed coconut milk for a dairy-free version.

Storing and reheating

  • Best fresh. Refrigerate in a closed bottle for up to 2 days and shake well before serving.
